Champagne Cocktail RecipeMake this champagne cocktail for a New Year's Eve party or as a substitute for mimosas at your next Sunday brunch gathering.
Ingredients
- 2 sugar cubes
- 3-6 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 cup of Champagne
- 2 oz brandy
- orange slice, maraschino cherry for garnish.
Directions:
- Place the sugar cube in the bottom of a glass (at least 20 oz).
- Saturate the sugar cube with dashes of Angostura bitters until the cube dissolves completely.
- Pour in the champagne, and add the brandy.
- Garnish with orange slice and/or cherry.
Cocktail Punch Recipe
Make this recipe in a large punch bowl. Better yet, set up a punch fountain that spouts this cocktail!
Ingredients
- 2 cans frozen concentrate lemonade
- 10 oz blueberry flavored vodka
- 5 oz Grand Mariner
- 8oz sparkling water
- 8 oz cranberry juice
- 1 diced apple
- 1 sliced orange.

- Mix all of the liquid in a large punch bowl or in several pitchers.
- Add the concentrate lemonade once is has thawed for about 10 minutes.
- Add the fruit and refrigerate the punch for about an hour or until sufficiently cool.
- Add ice right before setting out the punch to avoid the ice from melting and watering down the mixture.
One of the most appealing surprises of this punch is the way in which the fruit soaks up some of the cocktail mixture, adding a fun and tasty garnish to every cupful.
Lemon Drop Recipe
This refreshing cocktail can be served as a shot or a martini, depending on the type of party you are throwing.
Ingredients (for each cocktail)
- 1 oz citrus vodka
- 1 oz lemon juice
- 2 oz lemon lime soda
- 2 sugar cubes or packets of sugar
- 1 slice of lemon for garnish
- ice.
Directions:
- Shake all of the liquids with ice in a martini shaker for about 30 seconds to thoroughly mix and properly chill the mixture.
- Strain the liquid into a shot glass or a martini glass that has a sugared rim (to sugar the rim, run a lemon wedge around the entire circumference of the rim. Run the rim, upside down, through a pile of sugar).
- Slice the lemon slice up the middle, leaving the peel in tact, and dip it in the sugar. Fit the slice onto the rim of the glass for garnish.
If you are serving the lemon drop as a shot, leave the sugared lemon wedge on the side for people to suck on once they have had their drink. The sugared lemon makes a nice chaser for the booze.
Mimosa Recipe
Along with the champagne cocktail mentioned above, this mimosa recipes makes a nice Sunday brunch drink. Consider serving also at formal parties. You can substitute cranberry juice for the orange juice, as well, to add a twist to traditional mimosas (this substitute makes the drink into a "Poinsettia").
Ingredients
- chilled champagne
- 4 oz orange juice
- maraschino cherries for garnish.
Directions:
- Pour an ounce of the orange juice into four champagne flutes.
- Fill each to the top with chilled champagne and stir very gently.
- Add cherry to each glass for garnish.
Strawberry Daiquiri Recipe
This cocktail recipe can be a refreshing treat after a long day of work. Made without the liquor, it can be a delicious and refreshing beverage for kids.
Ingredients
- 1 oz Strawberry schnapps
- 1 oz triple sec or Grand Mariner
- 2 oz Light rum
- 2 oz Lime juice
- 2 oz frozen strawberries
- 1 scoop of ice
- 2 tsp sugar
- slice of lime for garnish.
Directions:
- Place the schnapps, triple sec, rum, lime juice, frozen strawberries and ice into a blender.
- Blend until the mixture has a grainy, slushy consistency.
- Serve in a glass with a sugared rim.Shake all ingredients with ice, pour into a cocktail glass, and serve with a sugared lime for garnish.
Pina Colada Recipe
Make this tropical, tasty treat for your next barbeque party. Like the daiquiri, this drink can be made without the booze as a delicious, kid-friendly beverage.
Ingredients
- 4 oz light rum
- 4 oz of pineapple rum, such as Malibu
- 6 oz pineapple juice
- 4 oz coconut cream
- Ice
- maraschino cherries, pineapple slices for garnish.
Directions:
- Place the rum, pineapple rum, pineapple juice, coconut cream and ice into a blender.
- Mix until it reaches a slushy, grainy consistency.
- Pour into a colada glass and garnish with cherry and pineapple spear.
